Try This: Plan out your meals ahead of time

Who plans their meals for the week ahead of time?

Below are some benefits:

Saves money– you have an automatic grocery list, so you will no longer be purchasing items that you do not need or will not use. It also keeps you from eating out as often.

Makes it easy to stock pile and get the “Good Deals”– After a few weeks of meal planning, you’ll be able to pick out what items you eat the most. You can use your meal plan to stock up on these high consumption products when there are good sales.

Less waste– I can’t count the number of times that I have thrown out good produce or leftovers because I never got around to doing something with them. With a meal plan you can plan your menu around what you have available or what needs to get used.

You know what’s for dinner– No more waiting until 7pm for your family to decide what they want to eat. Also, dinner prep is easier because you know what items need to be taken out of the freezer, what needs to be marinated, etc.

You can plan around your schedule– Have a busy night and not enough time to cook? Why not try a Crockpot item that is ready when you get home from work?

Gives everyone something to look forward to– Take turns choosing what’s for dinner and try new recipes. Make dinner something more than just a “have to”.

TRY THIS: Plan out your meals next week. If you already plan out your meals, make a menu board so the whole family can see what’s for dinner.
